Sunday Morning Practice

I felt a ton of appreciation putting together my next yoga sequence. This is among the first times I’ve taught more advanced poses such as Extended Side Angle Pose as well as Triangle Pose.

I’m also a huge fan of practicing while one of the lights around me is changed to reflect a chakra color, reminding me where I feel like I’m experiencing blockages. I’ve been really into focusing my practice on the Root Chakra (Muladhara). In cat/cow pose, feel the energy radiating from your Root Chakra to your Crown Chakra (Sahasrara). When your practice takes you to the ground, find yourself rooted there: take the opportunity to lift energy through the root chakra, and allow dis-ease to flow out.

Finally, as you look at your practice today, reflect on your effort and return: Does it hurt to take a pose today? Try finding a modification; not simply because it’s easier, but because you want to promote stability. Moreover, self-appreciation is not forcing your body into physical practice which causes you dis-ease. Today, try to find a modification reflecting the humbleness of your practice. As always, you are enough. Namaste.
